Mr. Atencio is actively involved in the strategic direction of the company and personally oversees all aspects of design, yet it is his remarkable approach to business that creates a collaborative environment in which employees are extended family, equally committed to his artistic integrity, superlative quality and customer value. Mr. Atencio launched his jewelry designs in 1976 when he opened his first store in Fort Collins, Colorado after having studied business and art at Colorado State University. His designs were immediately successful due to their unique combination of bold, geometric shapes, precious metals, distinctive and inspired design, and superb craftsmanship. Today, John Atencio has built a successful brand, yet remains true to his personal artistic vision. While jewelry is his primary creative venue, he shows another side of himself as an artist through his drawings and paintings. John Atencio was born in Denver, Colorado in 1950. He received his business and artistic training at Colorado State University. He was accepted as a member of the elite American Jewelry Design Council in 1988. His creations were further recognized internationally including three DeBeers Diamonds of Distinction awards for his unique designs. His alma mater recently awarded him an honorarium for his outstanding achievements. |
